Graffiti and Street Art
Street Art, Murals and workshops
Musas
Salvador, Brazil - 2013
One of my most pleasant experiences was the joint venture with the Salvador Bahia Artist Group "Musas" (or Nova 10 Ordem). We created living street art Museum, where Artists live and work with the local community, co-existing with local fishermen and with open doors for the world. Musas is a great example of living Art ideology.
Grafitti Workshop with kids
Cajazeiras in Salvador
Together with the Artist Group "Musas", it was a great pleasure to go around some disadvantaged neighbourhoods and share relaxed workshops for the amusement of local children.
It was amazing the great hospitality we received in all the places we went.
A special thanks to Julio Costa who invited me to participate.
Barreiro
Home-Town Graffiti, Portugal
Barreiro is the industrial town where I grew up. There since an early age, I have seen Street Art in different forms, from political murals to independent writers on the walls, and all kind of Art expressions.
It was possible for children to participate in these Art expressions thanks to the exciting times after the Revolution in 1974.
Lately, the closing down of industry and people leaving the town has left behind a lot of decay which has created a perfect field for graffiti development.
Graffiti Workshop with Kids from disadvantaged neighbourhoods
A few times in my life I have been invited to lead Graffiti workshops with children at risk from disadvantaged neighbourhoods. It is something that I enjoy to do where i can use my knowledge and experience that cannot be learned in schools, which is something kids recognised.
